Highworth Town shocked title contenders Brackley Town, crushing them 5-0 to record their fourth successive victory and take them another step to Premier Division safety.

In an excellent all-round team performance Town's newcomer Warren Fuller grabbed the headlines by scoring four of the goals with new signing Guy Ward adding a fifth.

Highworth boss Chris Seagraves was delighted with his side's display. He said: "We worked hard and out-played one of the strongest teams in the league.

"We kept a clean sheet again, played with plenty of confidence, and the lads were really flying. The result sets us up for our visit to neighbours Fairford Town on Wednesday night."

Highworth got off to a lively start and took the lead midway through the half , Peter Moss slipping his marker to square a good ball for Fuller to slot past the Brackley keeper.

The home side continued to have the better of the exchanges with Fuller and Moss a constant danger to the Brackley defence. Fuller's pace paid off a couple of minutes later when he sprang the visitors' offside trap and just beat the keeper to the ball to give his side a 2-0 lead at the break.

Two minutes after the restart Fuller's pace again took him clear of the Brackley defence and he rounded the keeper to complete his hat-trick.

Highworth added a fourth on the hour with the best goal of the match, new signing Guy Ward scoring with a great overhead strike into the top corner following a good cross from Moss.

Fuller then capped a fine display of front running by adding a fifth with a well-struck shot into the top corner.

Wootton Bassett never got into the game in the first 45 minutes away to Pegasus Juniors, and were eventually beaten 4-0.

Pegasus were the sharper side and hit the post before taking the lead on 21 minutes Mallender scoring at the far post. Mark Davies then added a second from a right wing cross two minutes later and just before the break a free kick from Steve Aubrey was converted by Lee Harris.

After the break the Wiltshire side began to play much better and just when they looked as though they may be getting back into the game Pegasus added a fourth from Harris.

Pete Yeardley's side will have to improve on their performance at Pegasus if they are to have any chance against Swindon Supermarine in the Wilts Shield on Tuesday evening.

Fairford Town completed a league and cup double over Southall Town when they beat the home side 3-2 in the second round of the Challenge Cup.

Lee Stoddart gave Fairford a two goal lead early in the first half, Chamberlain pulling a goal back on the half hour.

In an action-packed end to the tie Glynn equalised for Southall in the 88th minute, Fairford scoring the winner a minute later through Kevin Coles.

In Division One Pewsey Vale bounced back from their 5-1 midweek defeat by Bishops Cleeve to run 4-2 winners at Chipping Norton.

One minute before the break Cummings gave Pewsey the lead from the penalty spot, the lead lasting until the 60th minute when five goals were scored in the space of ten minutes. First Wyatt equalised for the home side on 62 minutes, followed by two strikes from Pewsey's Paul Day in the 65th and 67th minutes. Corbett pulled a goal back on 70 minutes, and Wall completed the scoring for Pewsey a minute later.

Shrivenham's recent good run came to a halt when they were beaten 5-2 at home by Ross Town. Sutton netted twice for the home side and Davis (4) and Hardcastle for the visitors.

Malmesbury Vics were beaten 3-1 at Old Woodstock Town in the Supplementary Cup.
