Jason Richards, one of the UK's most promising wheelchair athletes, will now be travelling to sporting events in a new Mondeo, courtesy of Ford MAGIC, based at the Cellular Operation Centre in Swindon.
Ford's Mobility and General Information Centre (MAGIC) is supporting the pentathlete in his quest for Olympic gold in Athens 2004. It is a unique service, set up to provide free information on motoring and mobility to disabled people in the UK.
Anyone can call its freephone service on 0800 240 241, but it is particularly useful for disabled motorists, their families, and carers.
Jason, from Harrogate in North Yorkshire, has had an extremely successful season this year. He represented the UK at the European Wheelchair Championships, broke the British javelin record, became 800m champion at the British National Championships and won silver and bronze at the German National Championships in Hamburg.
"I am very satisfied with the way things have gone this for me this season," he said.
"Winning the 800m title at the British Championships was particularly pleasing."
