SOUTH MARSTON: The General Secretary of the Amalgamated Engineering and Electrical Union, Sir Ken Jackson, was due to visit Swindon's Honda plant today (Tuesday) to speak to staff ahead of the firm's union recognition ballot.
The battle for recognition has been continuing for years and will come to a head tomorrow, when 4,000 members of staff will vote on the issue. Mr Jackson is expected to talk to staff at stalls set up in the plant's canteens.
