I refer to the report in the Advertiser, dated November 22, and the seeming attitude of the judicial system when prostitutes of long standing are before the courts.
Once again the residents of the central area have been let down.
When the residents are forced to take matters into their own hands, will the magistrates be so lenient in their administration of the law? I don't think so.
Since the failure to secure an Anti-social Behaviour Order, the police have been active in their efforts to combat the scourge of prostitution in the area, only to find their efforts frustrated by the courts, disillusioning the very people we rely on to keep law and order.
It goes without saying that the residents of the central area have lost all faith in the judicial system in Swindon courts.
