IF Mr Dawson genuinely cares about cyclists' rights (Letters, Nov 27) why does he choose to live so far away from his place of work necessitating the very long and hazardous cycle journey he is only prepared to attempt one day a week?
The motorists' bad behaviour mentioned in his letter results from congestion which, in turn, is due to people commuting from rural areas to towns for work, as Mr Dawson does.
He implies its OK for him to cycle on the paths rather than the road because a car will do him more damage than he would do to a pedestrian. What a nice man.
Perhaps one day the police will operate a zero tolerance attitude towards cycling on the pavement.
Meanwhile those of us who organise our lives so we can walk to work find these people irritating. The elderly and vulnerable have a more appropriate term for them.
