PARENTS whose children go to crumbling Hreod Parkways School will find it hard to be tolerant of the council's failure to release any of the £1 million that was allocated in May for repairs.

Today's news that almost £300,000 of this sum could be handed over to pay for urgent safety work is hardly likely to placate them fully.

The school, whose Ofsted failure was partly ascribable to the condition of the building, should never have been allowed to degenerate to a condition where such basic points as toilets, science labs, fencing and doors need urgent attention.

It just isn't good enough.
