A NEW campaign to tempt teenagers into careers as scientists and engineers is being spearheaded in Swindon.
The Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council is funding NOISE New Outlooks in Science and Engineering.
It is aimed at people aged between 16 and 19, and is based around eight 'ambassadors' who have built successful and often glamorous careers through the disciplines.
The team includes Heather Tewkesbury, whose job has involved looking into questions such as why chocolate melts and what makes the best crumpets!
NOISE has its own website, specifically aimed at its target age group, and focusing on items such as fashion, sport and entertainment and highlighting the science behind them.
