CAT owners in Swindon are being urged to neuter their animals or face a feline population explosion.
The Swindon branch of the Cat's Protection League says it is worried about a lack of response to it so-called Neuterthon campaign last month.
In addition, it has discovered colonies of urban strays in various locations, made up of former domestic cats and their offspring. The league cares for rescued strays and ones which remain stray, as well as cats which have been abandoned or suffered cruelty.
In addition, it offers practical help and advice to owners who wish their pets neutered.
