ALL 300 staff at North Wiltshire District Council moved into its new headquarters in Chippenham at the weekend.
The entire computer system at the council's offices at Bewley House and Bank House was shut down on Friday and a skeleton staff manned services while others packed up. All staff were back at their desks on Monday morning.
The move took place ahead of schedule it was originally planned for January 21, 2002.
Spokesman Paul Langcaster said although it was a major project moving 300 people with 300 computers, files and personal effects, it had gone very smoothly.
"People were not sure how much work would get done on the Monday, but after about an hour and a half it was business as usual," he said.
Council leader David Packham said: "Everything possible was done to ensure there was little or no disruption to the council's normal business and the services we provide." The council's telephone number remains (01249) 706111.
