Sixth formers at Chippenham's Hardenhuish School are getting ready to move in to a brand new block, fitted with all the latest equipment to help their studies.
Sian Yeowell, recently appointed head of sixth form, said she was delighted with the accommodation.
"There is no denying that we have outgrown our existing facilities and one of the best features of the new block is the academic and personal space that it offers our students."
Many A-level and vocational courses, such as business studies and tourism, will be based in the new block, as well as the new A-level psychology course, from September.
The sixth form block is sited slightly away from most other school buildings, but closer to the library.
The students have been consulted on study facilities, amenities, furniture and decor. Both study room and computer rooms have been designed to provide Hardenhuish students with privacy, quiet, light and comfort.
Consideration has also been given to the students' social needs with larger spaces divided up to offer privacy to groups of students, and a new fully equipped kitchen.
Headteacher Colin Smith said he saw this as only the first phase in a programme that will continue to try to meet the community's needs.
"This new and well resourced facility for our sixth form recognises the growing number of students we have here and the academic success that they enjoy."
