TWO farmers have brought Christmas cheer to the fields around Lacock.
Peter and Mark Self, who were responsible for the creation of six straw characters in August, have created a straw bale Father Christmas overlooking Whitehall Garden Centre.
The two men are directors of the garden centre and Whitehall Farm.
Santa appeared last Friday and has attracted a lot of interest. Jo Attridge, of Whitehall Garden Centre, said: "The brothers had talked about a Christmas theme after the success of the straw sculptures back in the summer.
"Father Christmas suddenly appeared as I was driving to work one morning."
Since its arrival, the figure has been commented on by staff and customers at the garden centre.
"Everyone is talking about the latest character and it is certainly very festive and amusing," said Mrs Attridge.
