EXPERT carpenters from Colerne-based structural timber frame specialist, Carpenter Oak and Woodlands Company, were guests of the Duke of Edinburgh on Monday.

Managing director Charley Brentnall and operations manager Bill Keir joined other specialists who had been involved in the major Windsor Castle Restoration Project.

The project won 15 major building industry awards for design, workmanship and project management. Prince Phillip unveiled the awards on Monday.

Carpenter Oak and Woodland was involved in the project for three months and had responsibility for restoring the kitchen roof and replacing the oak parts of the structure.

Company spokesman Jennie Meek said the project was extremely prestigious. "We were delighted to be invited to Windsor Castle to celebrate the awards," she said.
