Pewsey Vale School has warned pupils that they risk having metal chains, worn as jewellery, confiscated if members of staff catch them.
Headteacher Janet Plante-Cleall said that when they are worn discreetly or used to secure a wallet or keys they will be allowed, but warned: "For some children they have become a fashion accessory and a distraction."
