THE flags are out in Malmesbury in readiness for the visit of the Queen and Prince Phillip to the town on December 7.
The last ruling monarch to visit the town was Charles I in 1642 as he fled Roundhead forces in the Civil War.
The royal party will arrive in the town at 1.15pm and have lunch at the town hall. After being presented to a number of local people the Queen and Prince Phillip will leave the town hall and walk to Malmesbury Abbey.
Following a short service they will be driven to the Dyson factory at 3.40pm for a tour of the production line.
Seven-year-old Harry Walker is excitedly looking forward to presenting a posy of flowers to the Queen during her historic visit.
Harry, of Little Somerford, will present the flowers outside the town hall following a reception.
