YOUTH FOOTBALL: WILTSHIRE FA County Floodlight Youth League leaders Chippenham Town were forced to settle for a point as Bemerton staged a late comeback to clinch a share of the spoils on Thursday night.
The home side took the lead, but Chippenham levelled matters before the break and moved two goals in front after the interval through Neil Grant and Gary Banks.
Colin Bush's side, without key trio James Highmore, Ryan Bush and Daniel Lardner, allowed their hosts a way back into the match a minute after Banks' effort and conceded an equaliser with just seconds remaining.
The result leaves Chippenham 11 points clear of second placed Devizes Town as the league takes a break until January 9.
Youth team manager Bush was unhappy with his side's display at Bemerton, but has been pleased with the unbeaten start Chippenham have made to the league campaign.
He said: "I was very disappointed with the performance, it was not good enough by a long way. The pressure has been on the lads for a few weeks now and we've been scraping through for the past few games.
"But we're still unbeaten and now we've got a bit of a break. We'll get the lads together in the close down period and get them nice and fit for the second half of the season."
