A BOUNTY of £100,000 awaits young people in Amesbury - if suitable ideas can be found.
Town councillors are currently liasing with various groups and agencies in an effort to get a major project up and running in the New Year.
The money has come from various R2 contributions - cash paid by building developers to improve community facilities to accompany several major housing projects in Amesbury.
Town councillor and project officer Fred Westmoreland told the Journal that the town council would love to hear from anyone, particularly youngsters, who had any ideas.
He said: "We are looking very carefully at what we will do with this money, although no firm decisions on any project have been made.
"We are not in a position to say a definite 'yes' to anything yet but what we really want is to hear people's ideas."
During the past few months, consultation has been taking place between the police, town councillors, residents and youth groups over what might be done with the money.
A lack of facilities for young people in Amesbury has often been identified as a factor in sporadic outbreaks of yobbish behaviour in the town.
