THE Prince of Wales' personal harpist Catrin Finch delighted a crowd of music lovers in Calne at the weekend.

The 21-year-old's talent and wealth of experience impressed everyone at the latest concert of the Marden House Recital Series on Sunday.

More than 100 tickets were sold and the hall was almost full to capacity for the event.

Penelope Price-Jones of Marden House concerts, said: "It went very well indeed and Catrin really was a delightful performer.

"She won over the audience beautifully and has a maturity well beyond her years."

Mrs Price-Jones first heard of Miss Finch when she was given the Royal appointment as Prince Charles' harpist in May 2000.

Being Welsh herself, she followed the young harpist's progress with keen interest.

Miss Finch has a string of musical accolades to her name, including prizes at the World Harp Festival, the Audi Junior Musician Competition and the World Harp Congress in Paris.

On leaving the National Youth Orchestra in 1996, she was awarded the Arthur Bulgin Medal for her outstanding contribution.
