TALENTED young musicians Izzy Brookes and Eleanor Corr have both been selected to join the prestigious National Children's Training Orchestra.
Friends, Izzy, eight, and Eleanor, nine, were selected after attending auditions.
Izzy, who lives in Seend, plays the cello, and Eleanor, who lives in Marston, plays the violin and viola.
The youngsters, who are awaiting the results of their grade 4 exams, are both members of the Super Strings Club which is run in Market Lavington.
The National Children's Training Orchestra is a string orchestra for children under 14 and about 600 youngsters auditioned for places this year.
As a result of joining the national orchestra, they also join the regional children's orchestra based in Bristol and will practise with them and put on performances a few weeks a year, starting in January.
The girls had 15 minutes to impress judges with their playing ability and sight reading skills.
Izzy Brookes' mother Kate said: "They were the first auditions they have ever done and it was quite daunting for them to play in front of a panel of judges. They have been practising like mad since they were accepted."
