THE final total for the Calne Poppy Appeal is £8,505.97.
This is an increase of £1,242 over last year.
The amount collected in each village has been notified to the village co-ordinators.
The increase over last year's total was more than covered by the profit of the first Festival of Remembrance to be held in Calne.
Without the profits from the festival the amount collected would have been slightly down this year, due to many areas of the town not being covered due to many collectors retiring.
The need for several new collectors for next year's appeal will be imperative.
The thanks of the president, PAO, and all members of the branch committee go to all those poppy sellers and appeal helpers who helped make this result possible.
