After previous years of attending the ceremonial lighting up of the town, I was looking forward to this year even more, only to be bitterly disappointed by Devizes Town Council once again.
How much longer can they carry on getting things wrong?
As if the roads aren't enough to moan about now they seem to be giving us Christmas with virtually no lights.
I understand that the lights in The Brittox must have been beyond repair but what have they replaced them with? Basically nothing.
If you blinked you would miss them.
Every other town I have been to is lit up superbly it puts this town to shame.
I know I am not the only one who feels this way because of comments I have heard from others.
As if the lights were not let down enough, they also scrimped on the firework display.
It was total rubbish. They changed the venue, which meant everyone was too close. To see them you had to break your neck, and the turnout was nowhere near as good as in previous years.
The display lasted no more than five minutes and as we walked away, all you could hear from people was: "That was rubbish."
Come on Devizes. Do something for YOUR people for a change.
If a small building like Wadworth can light up with glory why can't you do it?
