HONDA has scored a unique double by winning an inter-national safety award for the second time.

The Swindon based firm won the Prince Michael International Safety Award for its Motor Appreciation Course (MAC) car driver training scheme.

The win comes three years after Honda achieved the same accolade for its MAC initiative on two wheels.

No other car or motorcycle manufacturer has won the award for both rider and driver training.

Honda MAC operates through-out the UK using a dedicated team of more than 60 former police rider and driver instructors. It aims to improve driver and rider skills and increase road safety awareness.

Since its inception in 1998 more than 20,000 people have take advantage of the scheme.
