RESIDENTS in Bradford on Avon have reacted angrily to claims that property developer Taywood Homes have listened to their opinions over the plans for the Kingston Mills site.
The town's preservation trust are concerned about the modern style buildings and lack of retail opportunity the development offers the town.
Chairman of the preservation trust, Malcolm Hancock said: "They are not listening. The plans are totally out of character for Bradford on Avon.
"We want a development, but it's got to be right."
The trust feels that although the developer has made some changes, it has not looked at the main objections raised by the trust and other organisations.
Local groups also feel other issues remain unresolved including parking and affordable housing, as well as the cramped design.
Secretary of the town's traffic and transport forum, Godfrey Marks said: "The current plans promise neither town centre regeneration, nor enhancement of a Conservation Area."
President of the town's Chamber of Commerce, David Gregory said: "We want to keep a vibrant town centre here.
"We have been consulted but we are not sure quite where we have got to."
