VISITORS turned out in force on Saturday, December 2, to watch the Lord Lieutenant of Wiltshire open the new building for Bradford on Avon's Air Training Corps.
Hundreds of people, including town mayor Janet Repton and Chamber of Commerce representatives, visited the new HQ, which is next to Fitzmaurice Primary School on Frome Road.
As part of the ceremony, Alexander Bush and Emma King were made corporals and Alexandra Miller was promoted to flight sergeant.
Committee member Helen Dalton said: "It was a lovely day and Sir Maurice Johnston did a wonderful job opening the building."
The new headquarters boast three classrooms, offices and a kitchen as well as a parade hall.
The ATC meets every Tuesday and Friday from 7pm to 9.30pm and the corps is keen to get new members involved.
Mrs Dalton said: "It would be great to have some new cadets, we've got space for them now."
