CONGRATULATIONS to KH Rogers who rightly won last week's star letter prize for his contribution to the Records Office debate. The important points that are made in support of the Trowbridge bid are all the more persuasive as they come from a former county archivist.
Trowbridge is home to the institutions of local government in Wiltshire. If parts of it are removed it will lose critical mass and its character and status as the county town will be diminished. These are defining characteristics that play a significant part in the prosperity of the town. The case for Trowbridge is compelling. I remain hopeful the new county records office will be built where it belongs in the county town.
