MAY I thank the inhabitants of Trowbridge and district for their kind and generous support of the Royal British Legion Poppy Appeal.
The total collected was £13,400 in round figures, an improvement over last year's figures. This is a wonderful response and will greatly help the appeal in its work of supporting ex-servicemen and women and their dependants, many of whom have given their lives and all of whom have suffered as a result of two world wars and conflicts which have occurred since.
As in previous years, the total includes the profits from a successful poppy dance held recently at the Wesley Road Club, where we hold our meetings. As always, we are very grateful to our collectors who have worked so hard to bring in this magnificent total.

Honorary Local Organiser,
