David Mamet's intricate thriller Heist (15, 109 mins) sees veteran thief Joe Moore (Gene Hackman) expose his identity to a store's CCTV system.
But when he visits sleazy crime boss Bergman (Danny DeVito) to collect the spoils, he is blackmailed into hijacking a plane full of gold bullion with the gang lord's psychotic nephew Jimmy Silk (Sam Rockwell) in tow.
Joe builds his team, including wife Fran (Rebecca Pidgeon), Bobby Blane (Delroy Lindo) and Don Pincus (Ricky Jay) but then the double-crossing starts. Full of drama with a witty script, the film sees Hackman in fine form, boosted by solid support.
