A DRINK driver has been told he faces a jail term after being convicted of tampering with a blood sample to try and get off the charge.
Paul Howard, 35, admitted driving with excess alcohol after a jury at Swindon Crown Court found him guilty of perverting the course of justice. Recorder Gordon Bebb told him that a prison sentence was "almost inevitable" after adjourning the case for pre-sentence reports.
The judge said Howard, of Albion Street, had "quite a chequered history when it comes to driving matters". Howard was released on conditional bail and will be sentenced in January.
