A NEW charity shop in Wroughton will be helping to raise money for the Prospect Foundation which has its hospice in the village.
Opened by Evening Advertiser columnist, Shirley Mathias, who lives in the village, the Ellendune Centre shop is the Foundation's sixth fund-raising retail business.
The charity's chief executive, David Line, said they were a vital source of cash.
The hospice with its in-patient beds and day care service costs more than £5,000 a day to run.
The Foundation celebrated its 21st birthday this year.
Staffed by volunteers, the new shop will sell good quality second hand clothing, bric a brac, household goods and books.
For information about the hospice, its shops or how to become a volunteer helper telephone Swindon 813355 or its fund-raising office on Swindon 815142.
