NEIL RUDDOCK insists he wants to play a part in building a better future for Swindon Town.
The player-coach admits the departure of former chairman Danny Donegan caused him to do some serious thinking but he now hopes he can work with the new regime.
Ruddock, who looks set for a first team recall against Hereford United tomorrow, has maintained a diplomatic silence since the High Court effectively evicted Donegan from the chairman's seat on November 5.
But while the central defender admits it was 'disappointing' to see Donegan ousted, that does not mean he will follow suit.
Speaking just ahead of this morning's EGM, he said: "I think Danny (Donegan) had great ideas for this football club.
"Seeing him go did get to me for a little while and I just kept my head down but things change and I still want to be part of this football club."
Ruddock hopes that the interim board will make positive overtures to him and arrange a meeting as quickly as possible.
"I haven't thought about leaving this club or looking for other employment. I can't wait to sit down and talk about the future."
Ruddock is having too much fun in Wiltshire to think about quitting. He is delighted with the way he has been made to feel so welcome, both by club staff and supporters.
He said: "The response I've had from the supporters has been tremendous. It gives you that thrill and that excitement you need to thrive in football.
"You want to work hard and bring success for them."
