November: The month opened with a fixture against promotion favourites in the guise of Stoke City.

For those that failed to venture out it may seem that the 3-0 reverse was a drubbing.

Nothing could be further from the truth as countless Town efforts on goal failed to find the net while Stoke made best use of the three or four that came their way.

November 5 was an appropriate date for the High Court case as the various parties fought for control of the club.

But it turned out to be nothing more than a damp squib and ended as a virtual non-contest.

Fans have already expressed their desire for the management team of Roy Evans and Neil Ruddock to continue unhindered.

And despite the change at Board level supporters will feel terribly sad and let down if Evans and the rest of his management team leave the club as they have made a real difference in such a short time. They also have fans 100% backing.

Following that episode, a match against ex-Town boss Steve McMahon was one fans had been waiting for with baited breath.

With the great expectation of an explosive encounter almost 1000 fans head up North only to witness a 1-0 defeat. The defeat was all the more hard to take because of Town's injury-time penalty miss.

On to the FA Cup. The cup can bring instant joy or despair and Town fans did feel a little sympathy for those tremendous fans who had made the long trek south from Hartlepool.

However, just like those from Gateshead last year we did enough to send them back and out of the cup.

The visitors had turned in a valiant performance but Town scored three at home for the first time this season to go through and set up today's tie against non-league Hereford.

Dreams already of a third round match, particularly as Hereford will not have Chalky White thistime!

Anyone rememeber his goal knocking us out of the Auto Windshields trophy last time we met?

Just as Town appeared to be picking up a 4-0 reverse away at QPR keeps our league position on a downward spiral.

The large number of travelling fans kept spirits high but it was a far cry from that celebration party at Loftus Road in our last away trip in the Premiership!

League leaders Brighton were next and brought a season's best crowd of almost 9,000. And with a buoyant County Ground crowd came a return to form for Town on the field.

The same team destroyed by QPR got the better of their opponents but just couldn't get the bit of luck to earn the result they desereved.

However the 1-1 scoreline was creditable and a goal at last from Eric Sabin leaves everyone feeling hopeful again.

A mid-week clash against Wrexham attracting a mere 4,000 fans brought Town a much-needed league win. It is so peverse though that when the crowds go down Town come up trumps with three points.

It has happened so often in mid-week matches in recent seasons maybe we should stage all of our matches under lights?

Who cares about the cold, when your team hits three goals and although the football was not necessarily vintage, we would all take a win and three goals every game.

Christmas is now just around the corner and we suspect many parents in the Town are thinking in terms of purchasing a premiership team shirt for their offspring.

All we can suggest is forget it. Bring them along to the Boxing Day match against Bournemouth and enjoy a 'REAL' football experience, rather than the plasticised imitation version served up on TV.

It would be great to see you and you might just find it rewarding, to be putting something into your local team. Who knows, you might just enjoy it and get hooked just like us!

An early, but Happy Christmas to all fans and those associated with the Town.

We hope for an exciting New Year and for those that may be wavering, do please get along to the County Ground, it could really make your Christmas and beyond.
