NEW College were crowned Wiltshire College champions after beating Trowbridge College 10-0 in the final at Ballards Ash on Wednesday.

The Swindon team started strongly but Trowbridge stood firm for the opening 15 minutes before centre back Chris Jones opened the scoring for New College with a strong header.

England trialist Adi Adams caused many problems with intelligent movement both on and off the ball and it was no surprise when he added a second.

A third by Gareth Jones made it 3-0 at half time.

New College put in an even more convincing second-half display.

Gary Smart made it 4-0 with a superb long range effort with rattled in off the underside of the cross-bar.

Then Tariq Hussain scored from the unfamiliar right side of midfield before Dan Allen calmly scored with a sweet left foot shot.

Jacques scored a second and Adams completed a well deserved hat-trick before skipper, Richard Knox, completed the rout.

This was a fine team performance by a young New College side seven of the side are under 17 and they now move into the National Cup competition in the new year as Wiltshire's representatives.
