THREE youths threatened to attack a three-month-old baby girl unless her mother handed over cash.
The 20-year-old woman was pushing her daughter in a buggy through an alley running between Marlowe Avenue in Park North and Ashbury Avenue in Nythe.
She was approached by three youths who demanded money and threatened to harm her daughter. The victim handed over £15 and three milk tokens.
Police spokeswoman Alvina Kumar today appealed for help in finding the culprits.
She said: "While all crime is reprehensible, this robbery is particularly despicable because the offenders threatened to harm a young baby.
"Fortunately, mother and baby did not suffer any physical harm. However, the mother was absolutely petrified by her ordeal and suffered severe shock."
The robbery happened on Thursday night at around 7.30pm. The offenders were all about 6ft tall, white and wearing dark clothing.
