SWINDON TOWN and Bath Rugby could find themselves sharing a new home.
Club chief executive Pete Rowe has admitted that the prospect of the two sides coming together on a site near the M4 is more than just pie in the sky.
The new Town board, led by chairman Willie Carson, is keeping its options open with regard to a new ground but it is the old scenario of nothing being ruled in or out.
Mr Carson and his fellow directors are well aware of the need to generate extra revenue and a sharing arrangement with Bath could be the key.
As yet, the idea is no more than a possibility.
The new regime is more concerned with assessing the level of debt they have inherited.
However, Mr Rowe said the issue of a new ground could not be ignored.
He said: "I must admit this is an idea I just put forward for a discussion in the summer.
"I think there would be benefits for both sides but I'm not sure what political obstacles Bath would have to clear to consider the move.
"But in principleit is a sound idea, football and rugby clubs have already shown that they can share."
