Retired priest Reverend Chris Dobb is looking for contributions towards a biography of the former Archdeacon of Swindon, Reverend Freddy Temple.
Mr Temple lived in Wootton Bassett and died last year aged 84. He was the former Archdeacon of Swindon as well as the Archbishop of Malmesbury between 1973 and 1983.
Mr Dobb, 55, of Calne, is a former priest who served in the Diocese of Bristol and knew Mr Temple over a number of years.
He said: "I want to hear from anyone who has reminiscences or memories of him.
"He was a very popular man and there must have been plenty of people out there who met him and have some vivid memories to share."
Contact Mr Dobb at Kingsbury Hall, Calne, Wilts SN11 8DG, telephone (01249) 821521.
