Swindon survived a late second-half fightback by Buckingham to win 20-10 in Saturday's Southern Counties North match at Greenbridge Road.
Swindon started the game strongly and within minutes the forward pressure had caused Buckingham to infringe in front of the posts, Neil Maycock converting the penalty.
Buckingham missed two penalty attempts and with time running out in the first period, Swindon went on the attack.
From a scrum restart, the pack overpowered the Buckingham forwards to take the strike against the head.
A sniping break from Jimmer Courtney at scrum-half and a well-timed pass to Maycock allowed him to beat the last two defenders to cross the line and add the conversion for a 10-0 half-time lead.
A further Maycock penalty made it 13-0 five minutes into the second period before Buckingham replied with a kick of their own.
Then the visiting fly-half snatched an interception from a Swindon move and ran in to score unopposed. The conversion was added and Swindon's lead was reduced to 13-10.
But Maycock dummied, allowing full-back Stuart Cock to cut back and surge through two tacklers to score, Maycock adding the conversion for the clinching points.
