The elderly are more likely to live in older housing, have low incomes and are likely to suffer health problems that can be the result of living in cold homes.
That is the verdict of Warm Hearted Homes, the Energy Efficiency Advice Centre for Swindon and Wiltshire, which is a partnership project between Wiltshire Agenda 21 and local councils.
Warm Hearted Homes is working to ensure that help gets to the most vulnerable members of communities
Jo Badham, energy efficiency advisor for Warm Hearted Homes said: "With the colder weather, keeping the home warm comes to the forefront of our minds.
"We'd like to remind people we offer a free advice service to house-holders about keeping warm in the home, including information about available grants to help pay for insulation and central heating".
