MORE than 150 friends and family turned out to a charity evening in tribute to Swindon man Danny Bohane who died of cancer in June.
The event raised £1,000 for the Prospect Hospice which cared for Mr Bohane.
Family friend Liz Bracken-bury, who organised the event at Club 2000 in Stratton St Margaret, said she was delighted with the response.
"It went really well. It was a great night and everyone had a fantastic time."
Danny Bohane, 43, was a Honda car-worker who died leaving five children, aged 16, 14, nine, five and one as well as a wife Sue.
Liz said she organised the evening partly to give the family a boost in the run-up to Christ-mas.
The charity night included a children's fashion show with outfits supplied by Tinkerbells Fairy Shop and Skywalkers Fancy Dress Superstore, a raffle, auction, stalls, games and a sponsored headshave.
The Prospect Hospice, in Wroughton, provides care for the terminally ill and relies on donations for 70 per cent of its funds.
"I knew they would be finding it hard with Christmas coming so I wanted to do something they could get involved in to let them know they've got a lot of support from their friends," she said. "We can't bring him back but at least they can know that a lot of people care about them."
