MY BOSS led me to believe that inflation was running at 2.8 per cent when my union discussed the annual pay award.
So how can Swindon Council possibly demand a 9.5 per cent increase in council tax?
More to the point, how can they expect anyone to afford to pay it?
And finally, in a long list of possible cuts in services, I did not notice cuts in council expenses such as holidays abroad sorry, fact finding tours expensive dinners in the name of entertaining etc. Perhaps I missed these in your report.
Would someone on the council care to tell us how much all those pointless bids to become a city, that so few of us seem to want, have cost us and if this in any way effects the almost extortionate increase?
