The Wiltshire and Swindon Economic Partnership (WSEP) has elected Tim Boucher as vice chairman.
Following a career in the international manufacturing and marketing of non-ferrous metal products, which culminated in responsibility for a UK division of a multi-national, he became chief executive of Wiltshire and Swindon Training and Enterprise Council in 1994 until 2001 when TECs were replaced by the Learning and Skills Council.
While at the TEC Mr Boucher was closely involved with the formation of WSEP and chaired the development group of the Partnership for two years.
He also provided advice and presented a report to the South West of England Regional Development Agency on part-nership working.
"I shall look forward to develop further the relationship between the partner organisations to bring added benefits to the economic development of Wiltshire and Swindon," he said.
John Cullum, WSEP chairman, said: "I am delighted to have Tim as vice-chairman.
"He has considerable experience of economic issues affecting small, medium and large businesses and the individuals who work in them, as well as a wealth of knowledge about successful partnership working and the added value this can bring to the areas served."
The Wiltshire and Swindon Economic Partnership was established in 1998 to promote the economic well-being of the area.
It is a joint public/private body chaired by John Cullum, President of Arval PHH.
