A NEW charity shop in Wroughton will be helping to raise money for the Prospect Foundation which has its hospice in the village.
The shop, in the Ellendune Centre, was opened by Shirley Mathias, who lives in the village and is a columnist for the Gazette's sister paper the Evening Advertiser.
It is the foundation's sixth shop. The charity's chief executive, David Line, said they were a vital source of cash.
The hospice with its in-patient beds and day care service costs more than £5,000 a day to run.
The foundation celebrated its 21st birthday this year.
The new shop, staffed by volunteers, will sell good quality secondhand clothing, bric-a-brac, household goods and books.
For information about the hospice, its shops or how to become a volunteer helper telephone (01793) 813355 or its fundraising office on (01793) 815142.
