TRAIN operator First Great Western will be bringing back its family carriage for the Christmas holidays.

From December 15 to January 6 inclusive, every child travelling in the family carriage can collect a free activity pack from the buffet.

The pack includes games, puzzles and things to do and to make revolving around the fictional Carriage Crew characters.

The family carriage is situated in coach E next to the buffet car and it runs on most off-peak services during school holidays, and on weekends.

It has baby changing facilities, seats with storage space for buggies and seating around tables to help families who want to sit together.

All children under five travel on First Great Western free and those aged five to 15 can travel at half the price of an adult fare.

First Great Western's twice daily e-mail information bulletin will also be provided on every working day over the Christmas and the New Year period.
