PUPILS at St Nicholas Primary School in Bromham are building up to the Christmas break with a series of parties and services to celebrate the festive season.
Last week's Christingle service in St Nicholas Church, when pupils lit candles to welcome advent, was the latest in a number of events organised by the school and the PTA in recent weeks.
A recent autumn fair was a great success while the ten-kilometre pudding race is thought to have raised in excess of £1,000 towards the school building fund.
Headteacher Tim Heath said: "We have a very adventurous building project which hopefully will come to fruition in the next two years.
"We want to build a school hall and replace some of the mobile classrooms we have on the site."
Meanwhile, preparations are under way for the Christmas lunch and for parties for both Key Stage 1 and Key Stage 2 pupils.
The school's Christmas service takes place at St Nicholas Church next Wednesday, to which friends, parents and grandparents are invited.
Members of the village Monday Club will be treated to a dress rehearsal at the Social Centre on Monday 17 December.
