FIRST Great Western is celebrating after receiving the 1,000th subscriber to an e-mail based bulletin service launched three months ago.
The bulletin occurs twice daily, providing information on train performance.
It was designed to provide train users with up-to-date information on the running of trains.
Customers subscribing to the service will receive details of current and forecast performance.
Updates are provided in the early morning and early evening.
First Western managing director, Mike Carroll said: "We launched the bulletin service at the end of August and it has proved really popular with our customers.
"It was vital to help us keep our customers fully informed of service changes following last week's landslip between Swindon and Didcot.
"The aim is to help customers plan their journey and make them aware of any disruption. Obviously the situation can change at short notice but we will keep them updated as far as we are able."
Swindon-based First Great Western recently expanded and introduced another bulletin for those using the Bristol-Oxford route.
This service runs the same as the other bulletin service, with subscribers receiving two e-mails daily.
The 1000th subscriber is Paul Woodman. He is a businessman living in Bath who regularly travels on the London Paddington route.
Anyone wishing to receive this service should e-mail First Great Western, on: Information.services@gwt.firstgroup.com Customers who wish to receive Bristol-Oxford information should type "Subscribe Bristol" in the subject field or for London type "Subscribe London". The service will be provided every day over Christmas and New Year.
