FAIRFORD League of Friends has netted almost £1,800 in one go after the landlord at the Bull in Fairford, Mark Dudley, raised £1,734 competing in an Iron Man triathlon earlier this year.
Former Zambian rugby player Mark swam 2.4 miles, cycled 112 miles and then ran a full marathon (26.2 miles), all in under 12 hours (actual time 11 hours, 53 minutes and 24 seconds).
He said: "I ran the London Marathon in aid of Fairford's playing fields association and raised just over £700. I suppose it was that that go me hooked on contributing to the local community.
"Raising money for Fairford Hospital was a pleasure and both my customers and the people of Fairford have been incredibly generous in their sponsorship."
