MALCOLM CROSBY has added his voice to those who are desperate to see Roy Evans remain at the County Ground.
Town's assistant manager does not want to become embroiled in club 'politics' but insists that the benefits Evans has brought to the club are there for all to see.
He said: "Since I arrived at this club 18 months ago, there has been far too much change.
"We don't need any more. I enjoy working with Roy and Razor (Ruddock) and I think we're doing okay."
However, Crosby knows that Evans must make up his own mind and decide what is best for himself and the club.
Speculation is nothing new for Crosby. He has lived with it almost from day one.
He arrived at the County Ground in April 2000 along with Colin Todd and Andy King.
However, just 18 months later Crosby is the only remaining member of that trio and is currently working for his fourth chairman.
He admits that it has been a testing period but throwing the towel in is not an option as far he's concerned.
During the summer, Crosby famously stated he wanted the players to 'play with a smile' on their faces.
With uncertainty over wages and a bitter boardroom struggle, that has not always been easy.
But Crozza insists that footballers have pretty thick skins and life has to carry on with some semblance of normality.
He said: "It does get to you at times.
But you have to take the view that all you can do is get on with your own job to the best of your ability."
Crosby said it was important to remain positive.
Worrying about matters you had no influence over would certainly not help bring about a winning side.
"Let's work hard and just focus on three points against Huddersfield.
"That's something we can bring about."
Town's players have adopted a similarly philosophical approach.
Skipper Alan Reeves said: "I think some lads take a closer interest than others.
"It's been one thing or another since I signed.
"But what happens off the pitch is really out of our hands."
Midfielder Steve Robinson is of a similar view.
He said: "Nothing surprises you and I've not even been here a year.
"But you just have to get on with it. That's all you can do."
Town reserves continued their losing streak yesterday. Neil Ruddock's men were beaten 1-0 by Luton Town in the Avon Insurance Combination.
