A YOUNG leukaemia sufferer had her dream come true on Tuesday, December 11, when she got to meet some real life pop stars.
Becky Mumford, 10, wentwith her parents to the Virgin Mobile Christmas party at Reflections nightclub in Westbury, with no idea that she was going to meet pop group, Liberty.
Liberty was formed by Jessica, Tony, Michelle, Kelli and Kevin the five singers who didn't go through to the final five on ITV's Popstars. Their new single, Doin' It, is due to be released on December 3.
Becky's dad, Dave Mumford, said: "Becky was a big fan of the Popstars series and of Hear'Say and now of Liberty.
"Her jaw just dropped when she got to meet them."
Mr Mumford and his wife Jo, went up on to the stage with their daughter and, after the show, the group spent ten minutes talking to Becky.
The Wingfield Primary School pupil was diagnosed with leukaemia last December and has since undergone gruelling treatment.
Becky, who has two younger brothers, Wesley, 6 and three-year-old George, has another year of chemotherapy ahead of her and her parents do all they can to keep her spirits up.
Mr Mumford said: "She has been coping really well but she has had a tough time. This has really cheered her up she had such a great time."
Virgin heard about Becky through her aunt, Colleen Davis, who works for the company and Mr and Mrs Mumford are full of praise for the staff there.
"Virgin has been absolutely fantastic. It was a great evening and we thoroughly enjoyed it."
DJ and singer Boy George was also a guest at the party, although he arrived late after taking a wrong turn off the motorway.
