THE Land Rover Freelander the best-selling 4x4 in both the UK and mainland Europe is now being assembled in Thailand.
It is supplied in kit form because taxes make importing the built-up version too expensive.
The company now has eight such assembly plants, including bases in Turkey, Brazil, and South Africa.
Since 1949, almost 400,000 kit vehicles have been exported.
