PUPILS from Christ Church school in Bradford on Avon were so pleased with their Ofsted report they wrote a report celebrating their success themselves.
Year six students worked in groups and pulled out information from the official report and interviewed acting headteacher Beverley Ball as well as requesting a statement from the chair of governors.
Mrs Ball said: "I was delighted with the attitude of the pupils. Their enthusiasm for learning was a particular strength. This is something the whole school has worked hard to develop."
In the Ofsted report, teaching is recognised as being consistently good in years three to six and there are good facilities for pupils with special educational needs.
Inspectors said: "The weaknesses found in the last inspection have been successfully addressed. There are good systems in place to record and monitor pupils' progress.
"Plans are in place to introduce a more structured approach to assessment in the reception classes and the first year."
The report recognises there are more boys in the school than girls especially in year three.
The report said: "Test results and the inspection findings show some differences in standards attained by boys and girls.
"In tests taken by 11 year olds, boys have generally achieved better than girls in English."
Chairman of the governors, Charles Budgett, said: "The governors are extremely pleased with the outcome of the inspection. The staff's hard work has been rewarded and we are in no doubt that the school can build on this success and look very positively to the future."
The report found no significant areas of concern and discovered that pupils' behaviour is good and children made progress through a good standard of teaching.
Ofsted inspectors said: "There is a good level of staffing and the deployment of teaching assistants is generally effective in ensuring that pupils' learning needs are well met."
Mrs Ball said: "I was pleased the report acknowledged initiatives the school had already put in place to address its weaknesses."
