A FESTIVE treat in Trowbridge on Sunday, December 9, gave some of the town's older generation the chance to enjoy Christmas dinner and a party.
The get together, organised by Trowbridge Town Council, took the place of the monthly Older People's Sunday event in the Civic Hall.
More than 200 people turned out for a traditional Christmas meal and entertainment.
Organiser Chris Scrivens, of Trowbridge Town Council, said: "It was wonderful. Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves.
"The atmosphere was very good and we have picked up quite a few new members."
Entertainment was provided by Phil Linder, a music man and variety performer, who kept everyone laughing with jokes and popular old time songs.
Mrs Scrivens said: "Everybody sang along to their favourite songs and he played the hunting horn, pop bottle and hose, and ukulele."
The dinner included a raffle with 50 prizes donated by local shops and businesses.
Mrs Scrivens said a big thank you to all the helpers at the event who included Trowbridge town councillors, Trowbridge Town Youth Council, the Sea Cadets and Air Training Corps.
