FESTIVE cheer will be alive in Trowbridge on Monday, December 17, with the judging of the town's Christmas lights competition.
The festive lights competition, organised by Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce and backed by the Wiltshire Times, is a chance for the community to go Christmas mad and decorate their homes and businesses.
This year, the competition was extended so more people could enter with categories including: best house, best window, best garden, best pub, best commerical and best school.
The schools section, which includes Christmas artwork and events, will be judged throughout the month.
Judging in the residential sections takes place on Monday, December 17.
The Wiltshire Times vintage bus, with judges on board, will set off from Castle Street at 5.45pm on Monday, December 17, and head towards the Seymour Estate.
The judges include Trowbridge Chamber of Commerce president Ann Mason, and town mayor Jeff Osborn.
Town crier Trevor Heeks will be on board to announce their arrival at each house and Father Christmas will be handing out sweets to children in each street.
The route includes: Charles Street, Langford Road, Parklands, Avonvale Road, New Terrace, Staverton, Paxcroft, Hilperton, Victoria Gardens, The Down, Lynwood Drive, Meadway, Westfield Close, Frome Road, Church Lane, North Bradley and Southwood Road.
The bus is expected to visit Charles Street at 6pm and arrive in Southwood Road at about 9.30pm.
Today is the last day to enter your home in the competition.
